早在B先生離職前，我們為他準備了心意咭，並已交給Cherry首先簽字，但他隔了一個星期都沒有寫上任何字，又沒有讓其他同事簽名，明顯有古怪。
We have prepared a card to Mr B and decided to give it to him before he left. It was with Cherry to sign first before we sign on it. However, he (Cherry is just a nickname, and he is a guy) didn't start writing anything on it even after a week or pass it to others. It is obviously weird.
越接近離職的日子，應該會感到愁離別緒，或總會抽時間收拾私人物品，但公司的氣氛卻完全未有反映出來，B先生仍然努力跟客戶開會，更告訴我們月尾那個總監將會到訪香港，目的是幫助B先生加快進度把洽談中的合約拿到手。
The closer to the last date at work, the more affectionate it should be or start packing up the personal items. However, the sadness is not spread through the air in the office and Mr B went for meeting as usual. He told us that the head is coming to Hong Kong end of the month. He wants to help Mr B to speed up the entire progress and sign on the official contract as soon as possible.
那天公司剩下我和B先生，出於好奇我問他：｢你最終還是要離開嗎？｣他露出無奈的笑容說：｢我也不知道，仍在跟人事部商量中。｣我感到驚訝，難道他們又想推遲B先生的離職日？太荒謬了！我再問：｢有機會繼續留下來？｣他回答：｢即使可以，也不想繼續為他做事，他曾經對我不信任，就像把破碎的玻璃黏好，但仍是有裂痕。｣
Some day with only me and Mr B in the office, I asked him out of curiosity "Do you really have to leave?" He gave me a helpless smile and said "I have no idea. Im still negotiating with the HR." I was surprised to know that. Is the company planning to further postpone his termination date? That would be so ridiculous. Followed up with that response, I asked him "Any change to stay?" He replied "Even it is a Yes, I don't want to work for him anymore. He chose not to put trust on me. It is like to assemble back the broken glass but the crack is still perfectly seen."
這一個月來，他不停和總公司談判，據理力爭，為自己討回公道，爭取應有的回報，他坦然已經感到疲倦。同時，這個月來又要面對著總監密友，小心自己言行，避免密友回去告枕頭狀，雖然他光明磊落，沒有不可告人的秘密，但防人之心不可無，絕對應該避免再蒙上莫須有的罪名。
Over this month, he spent time on negotiating with the company for what he deserved to have and to be paid. He wanted to win back his reputation and denied for any invalid statement which was exhausted. At the same time, he had to pay attention to the Best Friend, behaved and beware of what he says. He did not want to let Best Friend having any chance to talk about his back and back to the ear of the Head. Although he is a clean person without anything to hide, it is still recommended to play smart in the workplace.
話說總監到訪的期間，除了密集式和B先生和密友開會外，還把握機會跟客戶見面，希望盡快落實。但最重要的是，他必需為B先生的去留作最終的決定，因為那天就是B先生的「最後一天」，爽快來一個了結吧。總監還跟Cherry先作最後的討論才對大家宣佈決定，其實大家都心裡有數，知道B先生會繼續留下來一段日子，只是沒想到結果有點出人意表。
During the short visit by the Head, he had very intense meeting with Mr B and Best Friend. He also met with the client to urge them finalised the plan. The most important issue would be to determine the future of Mr B. It was the last day for Mr B and it was about to have ultimate decision. The Head was discussing with Cherry. We all knew that Mr B is going to stay longer for a certain period of time. The only unexpected thing would be the ultimate result.
總監先來一個官腔的開場白，說本來已經解僱了B先生，但後來又要求他留下來至月尾，一切令大家很疑惑。然後便滿臉認真的說，考慮到B先生剛簽了大客戶，突然離職會影響到客戶對公司的信心，所以B先生應該繼續留下來。我們向他投下懷疑的眼神，他表示大家可以忘記B先生曾經被解僱的事件，當沒有發生過；同時他對自己的決定令大家產生的疑惑道歉，承認自己做了一個錯誤的決定。對於自己同時聘請兩個人做相同的工作，直接浪費公司資源，他唯有說B先生和密友專注的範疇不同，工作不會重叠，說得真的牽強。
The Head started his speech with an official attitude, saying it is confusing for us to know the company fired Mr B and then ask him to stay longer till end of the month. Then he became serious to tell us that, due to Mr B signed the big client and it would be not professional to switch to another manager to follow the account, Mr B should continue to stat in the company. We all looked at the Head with a questioning glance. He told us to forget about the termination of Mr B. It is never happened before. At the same time, he apologised for his wrong decision and admit that he was wrong. In terms of hiring two people to work on the same task which is consuming the company resources in a harmful way, he said Mr B and Best Friend are responsible for different accounts, it would not have the situation of double manpower to same task. To be honest, it doesn't sound convincing.
雖然現在B先生繼續留下來，但破鏡重圓仍然會看到裂痕，我們都很清楚與B先生相處剩下的時間已經開始倒數。到時，我們便會真正在心意咭上簽名祝他前程似錦。
Although Mr B is now staying with us, we all clear that he will leave very soon one day. We are actually counting down the remaining days to work with each other. By the time he leave, we can finally send him the ready-made card with our blessing.
