To rent an apartment is just the first step to live in Hong Kong as we have to deal with the bill accounts registration, search for furniture and arrange delivery, decorate the pale-hospital-like wall. Everything we did is for making the apartment as "Home".
It was convenience to register for the bill accounts which you just have to call and complete in a few minutes. On the other hand, it was a helpless and stressful work to look for the furniture as it costs a lot to get brand new items. Therefore, we chose to have second hand stuff from some online platforms. People offered their used but can-still-be-used stuff via some e-platform for money or free. The aim behind is to go green, reduce waste and recycle. Since they are at low cost or even free of charge, items are taken by others within a short time. If you want to get what you need, you really have to be quick and keep updating for any new items. I was able to find the basic furniture which are also in the same district. However, the delivery fee was more than HKD1000. I hope I could have a truck to transport the goods on my own to save some money.
