Europe Germany & Sweden] Day 4

We scheduled to drive to Freiburg this day. However, we pushed it to the next day because it was the celebration of Fasnacht there and we expected to have busy traffic and crowd in the town. We ended up drove to Schramberg for another carnival. It is relatively interesting and different from the majority celebration. The carnival held in the canel along the town. There were more than 20 teams participating. They set their own theme and made their own boat. The boat sailed from one side of the canel to another end. They will sing, dance or act on the boat and have interaction with the audience on two sides as well.

Furz Trocken!
It is an usual thing that the participants fell into the water because of the unsteady boat. Then they will yell "Patsch!" and the audience will reply "Nass!" back and forth for three times. It means totally wet! If they are lucky to stay safe on the boat, it would be "Furz Trocken!"

We headed to Dorotheenheutt Glass Manufactory for a visit. It is the one of the few factories retaining the handcrafted. We also have a chance to make our own vase which is unique in the world.

The factory has a few interesting mirrors which will distort your actual body shape. (no idea how it is called.) By moving to differnt angles, we can become a big headie from a dwarf. It provided people a lot of joy and the name haha mirror is created.

Before we went back home, we visited Triberger Wasserfall which is the highest waterfall in Germany. Since it started to have quite heavy rain, we spent only five minutes there and rushed back to the car. I cannot tell if my face got the raindrop or the water from the waterfall. I was having a "Patsch Nass!" too.
