Moritz剛來香港時，經歷了一段沒有煮食爐的日子。因為不想天天到外面用膳，我也會叫他來我家吃晚飯。當然不是我煮，是我媽煮！我媽也不介意那段日子經常多加雙筷，這也是一個機會讓我家人多了解他一下。
During the time Moritz just arrived Hong Kong, we did not have a cooking stove. Since we did not want to eat out every night, I invited him to my place for dinner. Of course I was not the chef but my mom was. She did not have problem to have a guest most of the nights. It was also a good chance for my family to know more about him.
在飯桌上，我媽最喜歡觀察Moritz的動作，起初覺得外國人用筷子很有趣，後來看悶了便想知道他喜歡那一味菜。
Moritz第一次來吃飯，大讚她蒸的魚好吃，還用行動證明沒有誇口。自此之後，每一次Moritz來吃飯，必定有魚，不論簡單清蒸、加了配料或是煎魚都試過，沒有一次令Moritz不用＂Ho mei a (delicious)" 來作總結。雖然我媽每次都是得到相同的讚賞，但自己煮的菜有人欣賞，還是令她甜在心頭。當我媽看到Moritz停下來沒有吃魚時，便會主動叫他多吃一點，＂sik yu sik yu (eat the fish)＂，然後Moritz便會微笑說：man man sik (eat slow)。如果還剩下魚而Moritz表示"ho bao/ bao la (im full)"，我媽必定會瞪眼指著那碟魚說＂Finish!!" 然後Moritz又執起筷子默默吃為他而設的魚，我媽便會滿意地離座。
At the dinning table, what my mom likes to do is to observe Moritz every move. At the beginning, she found it was interesting for a foreigner to use chopsticks. Then she was bored with that and became interested in what kind of dish Moritz like. The first time Moritz came for dinner, he was highly appreciated of the steamed fish she made. He proved it was tasty with action: to finish the fish. Since then, fish is always on the table when Moritz comes. It could be steamed fish with or without side dish or pan-fried fish which all made Moritz commented "Ho mei a (delicious)". Although my mom always received the same compliment, it made her happy and felt sweet as someone appreciated her cooking. Whenever my mom realized Moritz stopped eating the fish, she will ask him to have more and said "sik yu sik yu (eat the fish)". Then Moritz will smile and said "ma man sik (eat slow)". If there are fish left while Moritz said "ho bao/ bao la (im full)", my mom definitely stared at him and pointed to the fish at the same time saying "Finish!!" End up Moritz will pick up his chopsticks and finish the fish which is the way to make my mom satisfied to leave the table.
