Extravagance Dubai] Day 6 -END-

The last day of the Dubai trip was also a great day. We headed to the airport in the last minute.

First and important stop was the Spice Souk and Gold Souk in Old Dubai Area. These are the significant tourist attractions and you can see the history of the city. Compare to the newly developed modern architecture and spacious shopping malls and the luxury hotels in the town, the Souk has a totally different atmosphere. Since that is the tourist attractions, the shops inside the Souk sell mainly souvenir like handmade carpet, traditional costume, authentic candies. When we passed the shops, the staff will greet you in your language by how you look like. They first said Hello to me in mandarin but I tried not to respond. So they tried Japanese and English on me which was not surprising. My colleague looks like Filipino, instead she is Singaporean Malay. Apparently, she was greeted with Filipino which made her so angry. I felt like she wanted to grab my hands and ran away.

Some of the staff were very aggressive because they were not satisfied to just greet you. They will have the scarf on hand and put it on you. How people normally react is to take that off and give it back. However, the staff will force to put it on you, in this way, there is a chance to break the scarf. Or you managed to get the scarf off you and they refused to take it back. Both of the behaviour are annoying. If you will visit the Old Dubai, be prepared to have the above happen on you. You will have a lot of greeting and being glance from top to bottom.

Another must do in the Old Town is taking the Water Taxi Abra to cross to the other side of the Dubai Creek. It costs only AED1 and takes 5 minutes. A very local and cheap experience. One boat can take around 20 people and run every 30 seconds.

We finally made it to the 3D Art Exhibition in JBR!!! It was another nice spot to hangout. There were over 20 outdoor 3D paintings on the wall, floor or the stairs . I was having so much fun.

If I have chance to visit Dubai next time, I would like to do the safari in the desert and also head to Abu Dhabi as well.
